Dr. Messer has been coaching distance runners for 19 years and guided two different schools to nine state championships and four Nike Cross Nationals top 8 finishes. Messer has also helped three individuals qualify to five Footlocker Finals. He has coached both boys and girls at Desert Vista and has been successful with both. Dr. Messer serves as the department chair in exercise physiology at Mesa Community College and is regarded as one of the brightest scientific minds in our sport. Dr. Messer is one of the nation's most sought after clinicians and will be speaking on the current science and it's application in endurance training as well as training theory.

Emmans is the girls coach at Wayzata high school in Minnesota. His girls are perennial Nike Cross Nationals qualifiers and Heartland region champions. In 2013 the Wayzata girls won the Nike Cross National Championship and this past season they finished third. The Wayzata girls have won five Heartland championships and finished top 7 at NXN five times as well. He is a USATF coaching instructor and will discuss training theory and communication.

Dan Iverson is the head girls cross country and track coach at Naperville North High School in Naperville, Illinois. Coach Iverson ran collegiately for Hall of Fame Coach Al Carius at North Central College. Coach Carius has been Dan Iverson’s greatest athletic influence. While at NCC, Coach Iverson ran on three national championship teams in cross country and track and was a NCAA Division III All American in the steeplechase in 1994.
Coach Iverson just completed his 26th year as the head cross country coach and 15th year as the head track and field coach. During his time as the head coach, Naperville North has been one of the top girl’s distance programs in Illinois. His girl’s cross country teams have won seventeen conference championships, twenty-one regional championships, sixteen sectional championships and nine state championships. In addition, Naperville North has had forty-four all state performances, an individual state champion and state meet course record, eight other top three state meet finishes, and a state track and field title in 2018.
Coach Iverson’s program is also one of the top programs in the nation. His girl’s have qualified for NXN nine times, including eight straight from 2012-2019. They have finished fourth place twice (2005 and 2014) and as runners-up in 2017 and 2018. Along with their team success, Naperville North has had three NXN All-Americans and three Footlocker All-Americans.
Coach Iverson has presented at numerous clinics. His knowledge, experience, energy and enthusiasm will benefit coaches at every level of the sport.
